The Raider's Lament began life as a Naval Escort, protecting the shipping lanes of the galaxy and engaging in rapid delivery of critical information, goods and personnel. That life ended after a particularly destructive encounter with some brigands left it damaged more than the government was willing to fix. It was sold, minus its military weapon systems, to a private investor. That private investor turned out to be Reginald Seldon, the last Captain of the ship who, himself, was mustered out of the Navy after being wounded in the very same battle. With his ex-Navy Chief Engineer, and a number of others picked up over the years, The Raider's Lament has made a name for itself continuing to protect the space lanes, but now for private hire.
But duty from the Navy is always present and above board, whereas private contracts must be sought and vetted. Right and wrong can be very grey and when bills are due, the line can become very blurred indeed. Fresh from another refit, the crew are presented with what appears to be a simple mission. But, as with anything simple bearing a high price tag, there's a catch. Join the ship as they choose not only their fate, but also how they face it.
