"The Races" is a fairy tale about an unusual competition. One day two prizes were awarded for the best runners in the forest. The main pretenders were the hare and the snail. The hare had relations and good friends among the prize committee, but he spoke about justice. The fence-rail said that they should consider perseverance. The snail took half a year to get over the threshold, but it tried to do its best. The rose thought that the sunbeam must have the first prize. It took few minutes to fly from the sun to Earth. The swallow wanted also to get the prize, but it travelled into foreign lands when the cold commences here. It had no love of fatherland. That's why there could be no consideration for the swallow. Who did win? Read "The Races" to know it.
