Morwen is a freshly trained soldier in the army of Erun, one of the most powerful kingdoms for the Elves. Unfortunately for her, the very first day of her life as a soldier starts with the plundering of her home. Orcs, Trolls, Ogres and Goblins, all members of the Horde invade the castle that stands atop Erun.
Morwen, and the rest of the Elves are quickly overrun by the members of the Horde, who also seem to have somehow invaded from within the castle walls. She manages to take down some Trolls but as the numbers grow, she falls along with her newly trained soldiers.
When she awakes, she finds herself in the forest, and realizes that she has been taken by Trolls and Goblins. Does she manage to fight her way out while the plundering of Erun continues on in the distance?
The Realms of War core series (Part I through XI) are not required before reading the Side Quest series, though suggested. The Side Quests are enjoyable stand alone stories that can also help fill in gaps for core series readers.
