Dune meets middle earth in this epic series about a futuristic medieval society in another galaxy. There are no gruesome monsters to fight; the monsters are the ones inside their hearts, the same ones we are fighting in our society and in our lives today. This is a series about greed, corruption, lust, and revenge. It is about terrorism, corporations oppressing the poor, religious extremists imposing their will on others, and about the rich doing anything for power. And it is about good, decent people fighting for love, for liberty, and for kindness against the darkness that would snuff the light out of the world forever.

All of this is set in a fantastic world with three moons, silicon-based life that breathes chlorine gas to survive, and its own lavishly created society complete with its own food, drink, and music. There are giant white birds of prey, sea creatures, and very cute long haired rodents. Two religions dominate the culture and, true to our own history, struggle with and against the constitutional monarchy and Great Council for power over the hearts and souls of the people.

Take a journey across the stars with me to a distant world that somehow feels just like home.

From the author:

It is with great pleasure that I present the complete Peers of Beinan Series in one, chronologically arranged volume.

The Peers of Beinan is social science fiction at its finest. It was created completely from scratch -- starting with the planet size, mass, chemistry, biochemistry, and rotational speed. Since every planet in the universe is unique, planet Beinan has its own units of time and distance. All of these details are laid out in a separate, "Complete Data Files" volume reference book though the first editions of "The Great Succession Crisis" and "Ghosts of the Past" included this information as well.

Though this volume is arranged in chronological order (see Timeline in the Data Files), it was not written in that order. The books themselves reflect this with the narrative of "The Great Succession Crisis" clearly laying down the world building as GSC was written first.

If you are reading the complete series for the first time, I personally suggest reading The Great Succession Crisis first; doing so will enhance your understanding of the Peers of Beinan universe while giving you the immediate back story for the much more narratively important "Ghosts of the Past."

Indeed casual readers of this series are likely to enjoy it best by reading Ghosts of the Past and Princess Anyu Returns while referencing the Data Files for explaining the world building.

However you decide to read this series, please kindly allow me to thank you for picking it up and considering it. The Peers of Beinan Series is the application of everything I love best about classic science fiction. Though it may be easy to get lost in the world building, these are thought-provoking stories meant to encourage exploration of the issues in our own world I care about most.

Thank you for reading this. I look forward to hearing your thoughts as we journey across the stars.
