Who speaks for God? Matthew 23 is the last of Jesus’ public ministry, and the clearest contest between Jesus and the Pharisees in answering this question. The purpose of this book is to investigate the confrontation between Jesus, as Messiah, and the Pharisees, as teachers of the law, in Matthew 23.
