In the third instalment of The Phoenix Murphy Story, Mudride are in Amsterdam for the final leg of their farewell tour, and gorgeous young guitarist Phoenix can't wait for the tour to be over so he can be alone with Caedem, his troubled boyfriend. But the arrival of cute journalist Ethan complicates things, and when Phoenix and Caedem's relationship threatens to hit the rocks, there's only one person who can intervene: Taylor, the band's too-hot-to-handle lead singer, whose turbulent history with both Phoenix and Caedem has led them both to hate him.

Warning: This 10,000-word story contains graphic sex between two scorching rock stars and is unsuitable for under-18s

Ethan walked towards him, and Phoenix felt a soft stab of regret. His strawberry-blond hair had grown down to his shoulders, but he had the same dancing green eyes and ruddy lips that had so captivated Phoenix when they met.

He smiled at Phoenix.

"Long time."

Phoenix took him by the elbow and steered him towards an alcove near the table where the coffee and water was laid out, so they could talk.

"What're you doing here, man? Last I heard, you were with the LA Press."

"Long story," said Ethan, his eyes crinkling up at the corners. "For a while, I was kinda sad that you never called, and then I was mad at you, but in the end, you did me a favor."

Phoenix asked the question with his eyes, and Ethan carried on.

"I sulked for a bit, but the whole experience made me get up off my butt and decide to do something with my life instead of hankering after some kind of vicarious life I could have had with you.

"I moved to Europe. I've been learning French, and I live in Paris now, where I work for an English-language entertainment website. I've even got a cute French guy in my life. He's called Guillaume. And I'm happy for you and Caedem, I really am. He's a smoking hot guy. I used to have a picture of him on my bedroom wall when I was a teenager."

"So did I," confessed Phoenix, and they both laughed.

"Guillaume's a lucky guy," said Phoenix. "I'm glad you're happy, and I'm sorry about everything."

They smiled at each other.

"Don't be sorry," said Ethan, glancing around to make sure no one was looking, before leaning forward, closing his eyes and kissing Phoenix on the lips. The kiss was fleeting, but there was a trace of regret and sadness in it, a hint of the depth of feeling that had once existed there that was not lost on either of them. And neither was it lost on the figure who stood in the doorway, his shoulders suddenly slumping, and his eyes burning with jealousy.

Phoenix saw him too late.

He pulled away from Ethan.

"Caedem!" he called out. But it was too late.

Ethan stood with his hand over his mouth.

"I'm so sorry," he stammered. "I didn't mean..."
