Long ago, the mask of bone was shattered, its bearer slain, the pieces stolen. They were scattered through the dimensions to prevent its reassembly. But Pflarrian doesn’t care about that. He has bigger issues to deal with. His home world was destroyed by war, forcing him to find a temporary home at the Mirial’s Rock Academy of Magic and Mayhem. Pflarrian spends most of his free time wandering though the dimensions, looking for a new home and searching for a cure to the curse that is slowly turning him into a fox. He’s got the tail to prove it! That all changes when he rescues an anthrowolf named Dashell from a dimension controlled by a mad scientist. Unknown to Pflarrian, Dashell is related to Xolotl, the Aztec guide to the dead, who wants Pflarrian to track down the fragments of the mask of bone. In exchange for this, the immortal is willing to help the wayward human find a new world to call home. But can he accomplish the task before he winds up foxed?
