Andrew Lang (1844 – 1912) was a Scots poet, novelist, literary critic, and contributor to the field of anthropology, best known as a collector of folk and fairy tales.
“The Magic Book” is a brief story by Andrew Lang which was included in “The Orange Fairy Book”. The storyline focuses on a boy who called to seek service. One day he met an old man who allowed him to keep some rooms and scatter sand on the floor, told him where to find food and let him wear clothing that was there. After some days he found a book that turned to be magical and learned shapeshifting from it. He wanted to boast but his father didn't accept his son and only after some unbelievable events the main character stayed happy.
