Several millenia ago, an earthquake and tidal sent the city of Ekonia to the sea floor. Those who wore the collar that let air breathers live beneath the sea survived the tragedy but before they could be rescued, they disappeared. Before King Ichos sends Archer and Aradia to find the lost ones, he warns them about a danger that lurks in the ruins of the dead city. Without more information about what can threaten them, Archer and Aradia are nearly captured by the most deadly creature in the sea...a man-eating shape shifter.

After a hazardous escape, they spend the night at the survivor's last resting place and begin their search early the next morning. But before they can search the new location, a whirlpool captures them in its spinning web and pulls them into a dragon's lair beneath the sea floor. Although Archer's skills let him stop the dragon's attack, they’re captured by an Ichonaut guard and escorted to an evil queen who holds the purple gemstone trident in her right hand! They've found the lost ones!

After Queen Kara spots Aradia's red gemstone charm, she plans to destroy the two intruders and own that sparkling treasure! She soon learns she’s met her match when her actions anger her uninvited guests and Aradia takes her to the dragon's lair to teach her a lesson. Releasing the lost ones is easier said than done when Queen Kara refuses to leave her home in the hidden caves beneath the sea.
