LITTLE WOMEN concerns the lives and loves of four sisters growing up during the American Civil War, and was based on Alcott's own experiences as a child in Concord, Massachusetts. After much demand, Alcott wrote a sequel, Good Wives, which is often published together with Little Women as if it were a single work. Good Wives picks up three years after the events in the last chapter of Little Women, and includes characters and events often felt by fans to be essential to the story.

LITTLE MEN is the sequel to Louisa May Alcott's LITTLE WOMEN.  Follow the life of Jo and the students of the Plumfield Estate School that she runs with her husband. The mischievous children whom she loves and cares for as her own learn valuable lessons as they become proper gentlemen and ladies.

JO'S BOYS is the third book in the "Little Women" trilogy, and a sequel to LITTLE MEN.  The story follows the lives of Jo's "boys," now grown and facing the troubles and challenges of adulthood.

Louisa May Alcott (1832-1888) was an American novelist.  Born in Massachusetts, Alcott was educated by her father but also received instruction from Henry David Thoreau, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Margaret Fuller, all friends of Alcott's family.  Her best known works, LITTLE WOMEN, LITTLE MEN, and JO'S BOYS, were based on the childhood experiences of Alcott growing up in Concord, Massachusetts.
