On this journey, laced with tormented memories and deep regret, reality crosses paths with an unexplored and seemingly chaotic ethereal plane. After enduring a near-fatal car accident, an emotionally tormented advertising executive finds that life after death might be a real possibility. Although it may not be exactly what one would expect. While awaiting resuscitation, the protagonist experiences an out-of-body “layover”. This layover is hosted by a vile night watchman—an unkempt ex-mortician who has a fetish for the dead. Curious circumstances are scattered beneath the surface of the past, just waiting to be uncovered. And unearthing the wrong fact could prove to be fatal. Can the past ever truly be buried? Or is it bound to linger on, haunting the living—and the dead.
