JUS PRIMAE NOCTIS
TO INVOKE THE RIGHT TO THE BRIDE'S FIRST NIGHT...
Handsome and virile, Baron Fabian Deschamps takes pity on a virgin bride callously treated by her old and nasty groom on the morning of their wedding, and he invokes his right to her first night to give the arrogant bastard a lesson and his virgin bride a pleasurable seduction she hopefully will never forget.
But Fabian has obviously fallen for the beautiful Isabelle and after paying for her bride-price, being his mistress is the most obvious direction their relationship is going to take. They cannot deny how powerful the wanting is, this need to be close. They cannot think to part ways so quickly and so easily.
Then the Baron is summoned to attend to the duke in his castle. Her presence with Fabian sparks controversy especially when whispers start circulating about his betrothal to the beautiful Lady Veronique Moranville, a distant cousin of the duke. Veronique takes it an insult that the Baron arrives with a commoner he treats with respect. Isabelle knows her time with the Baron is numbered, dreading his very last kiss before he tells her they cannot be together after all...

Excerpt:

ISABELLE THOUGHT she was dreaming.
She was standing by the river at the back of the cabin in the woods that was of the old happy crow Theresa. The sun was shining and it was almost blinding her eyes, but the warmth of it felt good to her skin. She smiled as she heard the Baron whisper near her ear.
“My Isabelle...”
She turned. She did not even hear him approach, but she was instantly engulfed in his embrace, her mouth claimed by a searing kiss. She became aware that she wasn’t in the river, after all. She was in her bed, where he was hauling her up. She opened sleepy eyes to peer at him as Fabian carried her through the hallway to his bedchamber.
“Fabian?” she whispered.
“I'm sorry it took me so long. Why didn’t you sleep in my bed, ma bichette?”
She blinked at him. “I didn’t know when you’ll be able to come back. How late is it?”
“Almost morning,” he said. He opened his door, and walked straight to the bed and deposited her in the middle of it before he began to strip himself of his clothes.
She became more alert as more and more of his skin was exposed. “Is there something wrong?” she asked.
“Yes. I need you.”
