The underground music scene in New York in the 60's and 70's is a tough place to make your mark, as young English girl Suzie soon discovers. However, by a chance meeting she befriends Patti who introduces Suzie to the weird and wonderful world of life in The Village, with all of its characters and trappings. But Suzie being the adventurous girl that she is dives into the lifestyle and it soon takes a grip on her. The story flips between life in New York in 1967 and 1977 and this serves as the backdrop for Suzie's adventures as she gets pulled into the world of New York's folk and underground music scene of '67 and then the punk of '77 and all the legendary hangouts that the `cool' people frequent and these include a bunch of females known to the locals as the Black Angels and they are a force to be reckoned with.
