It is a satire on the power that technology has or could have on us all.
The story is projected in the future to better narrate the present.
It is not a science fiction book, but a pamphlet to stimulate our intuition and reflections on the life under surveillance which we are already beginning to go through.
“The Jolt” is the continuation in narrative form of “La Ragion Per Cui” (2007), because it confronts the modern subjective mentality with the need for an orderly society.
In particular the main character of the “Old Doc” embodies, beyond the content expressed, the subject matter of “the reason why – justification”.

BIOGRAPHY
Andrea Conz is 56 years old. He was born in Padua, Italy and works there as a middle school teacher. Before he started teaching he was a jack of all trades, from working in a law office, in a pulping paper plant, a full time swimming instructor, a manager in a supermarket, a worker at the city hall of Padua, and as a sales agent.
In each of these jobs he has always given his most, because he felt that the search of freedom in seriousness is the continual stimulus in life.
Everything he has done is a matter of reflection and improvement not only of his own experience, but also of his view on the world of work and the society.
He has always tried to learn and to understand, as far as possible, his own and the others' humanity.
