This year, it leaves behind the old and the young Gaspard Hari Ulrich Kunsi with Sam guide, a large dog mountain. They are responsible for monitoring the inn during the winter. But the heart split because of its separation from the young Louise Hauser Ulrich is hardly pleased with having to spend so much time isolated in the world. If at the beginning, everything goes regularly and even a bit of monotony, the situation quickly becomes nightmarish.

The old Hari disappeared during an attempt to hunt. Left alone with Sam at the inn, Ulrich tries to find the cutting through the mountain. However, it is a failure. Weary and bitter, back to the inn, he seems to hear in his voice full of sleep the reproaches of his old companion in agony. Ulrich, helpless and tormented, is constantly harassed by that voice. To escape, he sinks into alcoholism and madness swallowed.
