The call had come from a vice officer, who’d stopped the raid they were on, after they’d used the enforcer to open up a house. The smell of death nearly knocked them off their feet. His team members knew what that meant and had wanted to leave, obvious it wasn’t a brothel, reported by neighbours, and all of them furious with him for standing his ground and calling it in. He was adamant they waited for the murder squad to arrive. Once they had, it became apparent why they’d wanted to leave. Only one of them was left with a job when Harvey had had his say, and he joined the hybrids in the hunt for the bodies.
