In the early 1900's Charlie and Emily Kent married and lived on their farm in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. They had bought and worked their farm for over five years, during this time their family came along bringing them great happiness. Because of the severe weather conditions which were beyond their control, they were forced to sell the farm. Charlie felt it best to move the family up to St. Paul. He bought The House on Third Street, and found work in Lead, South Dakota in a gold mine. Two of her sisters move along with them, and stayed with Emily to help her with the family.  Shortly after there was a tragic incident. Times for Emily become even more difficult when she suffers the greatest most unthinkable incident any person should ever have to endure. Even under such hard circumstances Emily remains in the end - positive. In reading about their life, you will find yourself forever changed. You will both laugh, and cry at some of her experiences in life.
