Albert Hill better known as Albie, a soft-spoken 35-year old diagnosed with Down syndrome and limited vocabulary, stood at the threshold of door number 12 Applegate Avenue covered in blood with an ax in his hand dripping as though the inanimate object was bleeding itself. Repeating his words naw, him-him to the point of hysteria. The children playing on the lane that morning screamed in horror of Albie's condition. They ran to their houses in panic as Albie continued to call out his verse, naw, him-him.
After authorities arrived on the scene, they discovered Albie's grandmother, Ida George and sister Rebecca Hill had been chopped up with the ax he held in his hand and Albert Hill was taken into custody for committing the heinous crime.
Charlotte Nelson, a childhood friend; now a public defender asks of how can this mentally challenged man be accused of murder and her client.
