Laurel Sinclair has carved out a quiet life for herself in the sleepy town of Sussex, Connecticut. By day she runs a thriving antiques shop, but her night job is an entirely different story. Driven by the pressure of time, Laurel is forced to dredge up some ghosts from her own past, not all of which are easy to leave behind. She becomes obsessed with trying to understand why her grandfather has never kept his promise to contact her from beyond the grave, and launches a life-changing quest to discover what really happens to us when we die.
