THE GREATEST POWER ON EARTH
Let’s begin with a quote by Cecil B. DeMille, Film producer; “I have found the greatest power in the world is the power of prayer”. Queen Elizabeth of England said, “I am not afraid of the whole army of England put together but am afraid of the prayer of John Knox”
No power is greater than that which comes through prayer. Prayer gives the power that can control the men who control the machines. Prayer gives the power that can rule the men who rule the world.
I wonder why sometimes we stay too long before turning to God in prayer. Prayer is the most powerful tool God has given us. Think about it for a moment. The Almighty God, Creator of the universe, Master off all life, controller of all the natural and physical laws the omnipotent Lord who was, and is, and is to come, has an open-door policy, and actually invites us to talk with Him. Through prayer, we are able to confess our sins, ask for forgiveness, and submit to salvation through Jesus Christ. Through prayer, we can heal and be healed.
Through prayer, we can encourage and be encouraged. Through prayer, we can fight back the attacks of Satan and his band of demons. Through prayer, we can do anything.
God spoke to Jeremiah and said, “Call unto me, and I will answer thee and shew thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not” (Jeremiah33:3).
What an inspiring and motivating passage! Reading that verse always makes my heart skip a beat. This promise is not only to Jeremiah but also to all of us. James tells us “come near to God and He will come near to you,” (James 4:8). Through prayer, we are able to be closer to the Almighty God than to anyone or anything else on this earth! This is an amazing and humbling gift! What can we pray for? The Bible tells us to pray for healing (James 5:16), for wisdom (James 1:15), and for peace of mind (Philippians 4:6). We are even told to go beyond these, and to “pray in the spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests,” (Ephesians 6:18)!
Accompanying this is another wonderful promise. In Mark 11:24, Jesus tells us, “whatever you ask for in prayers, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours,”
This book will open your eyes to the awesome power of prayer. You will see the amazing things prayer can do and you will also learn how to use this great power for unending success.
