John 3:16 is the most well-known verse in the Bible. God has used it in the salvation of many precious souls. This verse is the most concise statement of the love of God for us and the way He made so that we can get to Heaven. Martin Luther called it “The gospel in a nutshell.” It tells us that God planned our salvation and to do so, He sent His Son into this world. There is nothing left for us to do but believe that He came to save us and receive this salvation for ourselves. However, even though God gave this great gift to us, we can either receive or reject this offer. There will then be only two ends available to us. It will be either eternal life or eternal death.
