The God Process is an original and thought-provoking series of discourses on the divine. I was particularly impressed by the author's ability to see past his Christian theology and embrace a God who is there for all worshipers of creeds.

In his book The God Process: Memoir of Miracles, Kirk S. Boote explains this mystery of God's presence in our lives and the miracles that result from that presence. The book gives fresh insight on the meaning of miracles, love and choice, and how these all entwine to bring about life changing events that will forever alter one's path. We all encounter circumstances that have changed our life path. Such events are not the work of man; they are guided by the invisible hand from high up above.

The book is a compelling read. For me, the central message in this book was about achieving spiritual growth, purpose, endurance, understanding and fulfilment through recognising God's work in your life and in the lives of others, irrespective of your religion. The miracles that change our lives might be major events or small ones and they might come through joyous moments or painful ones. After internalizing his message, I have a completely new understanding of the meaning of a miracle.

The God Process explains how as “spiritual beings having a human experience,” we encounter events and moments that enable us to realize our true nature and the purpose God has for us. But this depends on our recognizing and responding to those moments or miracles. The book follows a chapter by chapter explanation of how our lives shape us through experiences, our families and other people. The author explains his own encounters with a myriad of situations that led him to an understanding of how God works.

The God Process is one of those books that is written from the heart. Kirk S. Boote tells us of his own experiences – from tragedies, setbacks, adventures, new beginnings, etc - to explain his theory of the meaning and the “why” of his life and life in general. The short chapters and approachable language style make this a thoroughly readable book that will appeal to anyone seeking purpose and understanding, or a deeper faith regardless of religion. I like the acknowledgement that faith is not about religion or following sets of rules, but rather about finding God moments and so discovering the essence of our beingness.

I found myself agreeing wholeheartedly with the book’s idea that it is when we accept and love ourselves that we can become more for others and grow spiritually and emotionally too. A thought-provoking and inspiring book that helps us see life is full of moments when God provides guidance, insights and miracles.

The God Process: Memoir of Miracles is a non-fiction inspirational collection of memoirs written by Kirk Sidney Boote. The author explores the concept of God and the interconnectedness of life and human consciousness with that divine concept. His stories use memories from his own and his parents' and grandparents' lives to illustrate and build on his premise. While his approach is that of a Christian, his words are meant to be non-denominational, and he invites non-believers and believers alike to consider what he has to share. His stories begin with that of his great-grandparents who emigrated to northern Saskatchewan in the early 1900s, a rugged life that had its share of hardships. His grandmother would tell him stories from her childhood of tent revivals and traveling preachers. He also recounts the story of how his father, who had suffered from severe, debilitating asthma as a child, was cured by a Jewish Rabbi who came to the family's home to pray over him. His father, who had frequently had to be hospitalized, was cured.

Kirk Sidney Boote's inspirational collection of memoirs, The God Process: Memoir of Miracles, is an original and thought-provoking series of discourses on the divine. I was particularly impressed by the author's ability to see past his Christian theology and embrace a God who is there for all worshipers of creeds. His dismissal of the God-in-a-box culture of Sunday worship in favor of a godly oriented thought process is likely to be seen as a refreshing change for many who have become disillusioned by organized religion and big-box churches. Boote tells of his time spent working on a kibbutz in Israel in the late 1970s, and his recollections of those tumultuous times and his experiences there are fascinating, as are his stories about his father-in-law's experiences in the trenches during World War II. Throughout these tales, the grace of God and the author's message shines through most brightly. The God Process: Memoir of Miracles is highly recommended.
