Seeing ghosts has caused Dumdie Swartz a world of trouble since she was little. Now in her advanced years, she lost her job because her boss thought she was having strokes and became homeless as a result of her gift. Dumdie is forced to sleep in her car in a shopping mall car park.

When she gets the chance of a room in an old house that has been transformed into a shelter, she jumps at the opportunity to sleep in a comfortable bed once again, but even in her new sanctuary, she cannot escape from the dead. Just when she thought her life is beginning to turn around, the ghost of the former owner of the house reaches out for her help.

Dumdie is forced to choose.

Should she risk upsetting the rest of the occupants with her story by helping the spirit to find peace?

Should she ignore the ghost and walk away, forcing the shelter to close?
