Christian Black, a sophomore transfer from a small town, is struggling in pre-med at his new university. He is failing his classes, his meal card has been shut off, and his roommate grunts Metallica lyrics while twirling a baseball bat. Christian’s luck changes when Leland, the leader of the fraternity Panis de Vita, introduces himself. The frat lures Christian in by resolving his financial problems as well as easing his stress with classes and girls. Leland and Skiv, a shades-wearing cowboy, spike Christian’s drinks with blood, and before he realizes it, he is draining O-negative IV bags and hitting supermarkets for pig’s blood. After human feeding fests with his new brothers, Christian must choose between the murderous, carefree lifestyle he has come to embrace, or the human friends Panis de Vita considers prey.
