John Francis Campbell was a Scottish author, mostly known as a collector of folklore. Inspired by the work of the Grimm brothers and by Scandinavian scholars, John Campbell used his fluent Gaelic to study the Gaelic oral tradition, and published four volumes of collected stories as “Popular Tales of the West Highlands Orally Collected”, with a Translation in 1860-1862.
Once upon a time the fox met the little bonnach near the lake. The fox wanted to eat the bonnach, but the little bonnach didn’t want to be eaten. He escaped her and met new adventures… What happened with him? Read the story to know!
