Jeannine and her new best friends learn to cope with their abusive, control freak 4th grade teacher. Jeannine is comforted by her dad, teacher friends, principal and other adult friends. Then on a really bad day Mrs. Rimwood has a meltdown and hurts kids when she loses control of her terrible temper. The class is liberated from their classroom war zone when parents and school officials meet to suspend the mad teacher. Jeannine and her friends learn teachers can be suspended for numerous offenses, besides the things Mrs. Rimwood has done to offend and hurt them. Jeannine and her best friends enjoy afternoons at her grand uncle's vintage theatre in spite of the trouble at school. Jeannine plays the huge Wurlitzer and her friends jam with her on their instruments. The children are invited to help sort tiles to restore the Palace Theatre's mosaics and one boy helps his dad restore the painted murals. After Mrs. Rimwood is suspended, Jeannine can enjoy concentrating on practicing her organ solo for the theatre's grand reopening Christmas concert. Her best friends can look forward to practicing in the concert's orchestra alongside their new 4th grade teacher.
