A young engineer had assisted in the demolition of the old City Hall in Seattle. He took most of the transit readings as it was torn down. All that is left is a huge hole. He made a final visit before his next job outside of the USA.
A day later, on the same high rise where the transit readings were taken; a body is found torn apart by a large air conditioning unit. Inspector Strong sends his team to investigate the death.
With cameras and logins every person is accounted for that went to the roof for the previous week.
The young engineer is seen on camera boarding a plane to leave.
Rage and Jones walk the entire roof, finding the transit’s marks. The young engineer gave his transit and box to the building engineer when he left the last time. All his readings are taken to the UW to see if they can understand them.
A hit man is killed trying to murder Detective Rage. She and Jones go into hiding in the most expensive hotel in the city. They request whipping cream, honey, heaters, card-board, and miles of string. Can they figure out the transit’s readings and what they mean now that the building is down?
Why is a Federal Judge threating to take control of city government if action is not taken?
