The Girdle of Enchantment is the last defence of The Bright, Shining Lands. Each Sorceress, White Witch, and Prophetess of The Wiccen Rede is being methodically destroyed in order to weaken the Girdle of Enchantment that protects Falanholme and her surrounding neighbours.
If the Girdle fails, then The Lord of The Underdark, Baelar's minions can breach the protection of the enchantment that has so far, held them at bay. Then; they can overrun the land, and destroy their main target... the one who is called "The Golden Child"... the daughter of The Lord Guardian of The Light... Calladhor.
It has long been prophesied that "The Golden Child" will bring the aspirations of Baelar to ruin. Another young, female Guardian... Beshlie of Calverstock will have a hand in this ruination, and Baelar is aware of this. He therefore creates an evil counterpart... the False Beshlie, who is mandated to lure the "Golden Child" to her death.
Having destroyed one of Calladhor's allies... the Thuvians; and utterly laid to waste their Realm of Khallis, Baelar brings forth from the depths of the Abyss his most terrible entities to destroy The Guardians of The Light, their children... the new Guardians; and the very fabric of The Bright, Shining Lands itself.
