The Encounter

The Encounter by Javier Hill. It is an inspirational Christian fiction story set against the backdrop of Chickamauga Battlefield. Landon, while fight in the Battle of Chickamauga, had been shot by an opponent army and wounded heavily. On the other hand, he also shot the army. While lying on a cot, he heard a voice said "Wake up!" Will he be able to survive? Will God spare him?

Before Private Landon could fully reload his rifle, though, a bullet struck him in the right thigh. Private Landon felt as if hot, cruel set of vicious teeth had yanked off his right thigh as he was thrown down to the ground. He felt his hands release his rifle as he grabbed his right thigh. Blood began to gush through his fingers in bright, red stream, “I’m hit,” he whispered to himself in fierce pain, “My first battle and I’m hit.”
