The Dragon Under My House, a children’s fantasy novel, tells us the story of Ellie Brown who one day finds herself in a book. There she meets a cat with many secrets who appears to be a human in his free time, and a mysterious sorcerer who is somehow connected with the cat.

Ellie Brown is twenty-three and she recently moved to a new town, Bishop’s Stortford. Her life was quite normal until one day she appears to be in a book in order to save it. There she meets a talking cat, David, who is human when he needs to be one.
Travelling in books is not as easy as it seems. There are rules and secrets. Even David is hiding something from Ellie, and she desperately wants to find out what.
Ellie meets both of David’s sides and, even if she does not know everything about him, she still agrees to help him save unfinished books.
In books, they keep meeting the Sorcerer, who goes by many names. The Sorcerer tries to destroy imagination, kindness and hope in the books. In one of the books, Ellie finds out why.
A long time ago, when David was just a human, he created a book. The book was so powerful that the father of David’s friend, who David described as an evil sorcerer, became the sorcerer. Now the sorcerer wants only revenge, and David tries to stop him.
David changed himself with the power of his imagination. Ellie knows that he is a better person now and it is time to save all books from the sorcerer at once.
Ellie has a secret too. A big blue dragon had been sleeping under her parents’ house for a long time. The dragon had dreams about everyday live that would be boring for other dragons. Ellie knows the dragon better than anyone does, and she writes a story about him. David and Ellie finally come into this book.
David knows that the dragon would always protect Ellie. Also, David knows that the only way to stop the sorcerer is a spell that would release the magic of imagination, and both David and the sorcerer would die. Though David loves his life, he still sacrifices himself so all readers and authors in the world could have a wonderful future.
Later, after Ellie comes back from her book, her father shows her a one hundred year old with David in it, and another young man who was David’s best friend and whose father went missing a short time before David disappeared as well. This young man was Ellie’s great-great-great grandfather, and that connection remained between Ellie and the sorcerer.
