When school is out, and summer is in everybody at Glass Art Academy, a school for prodigies and talented students, are excited about the summer. Everybody except for Benny Breezy a young piano prodigy who needs to rediscover his voice for music again. Worried about what's going to happen to him and his friends, since next year will be their senior year. He comes up with a plan to have the best and most adventurous summer ever. However, after a series of events and finding out that all of his friends have other plans for summer, Benny decides to return home for the summer. Things turn from bad to worse when Benny and Zeke who play as Chronicle Newspaper Reporters, along with Simon, their photographer, find out that The Daily Globe is facing closure. All hope seems lost until a mysterious person comes to their rescue. They discover that the one and only Ross Lynch has been framed for stealing The Diamond Ape Skull from The Diamond Museum in Amsterdam. Ross Lynch is offering a huge reward to whoever can clear his name. Benny and his friends set out to Los Angeles, to interview Ross Lynch and exhonorate Ross Lynch. While in LA, the gang stay with Benny estranged Aunt Fanny who lives in a penthouse at a five-star hotel called The Lipton. When Benny and Ross meet their two worlds collide, and they become unlikely friends. The big question is though, can he trust that his new friends, and can actually save Ross’s career?
