'So they took one look at his rap sheet and kicked his sorry Irish ass clean out of Wonderland. They didn’t even pause to strip away his Glamour, they were that cheesed off with him.

September wasn’t sure where he landed at first. Some out-of-the-way burg you couldn’t get a decent pint of mead, that much seemed obvious. The place was an endless warren of concrete canyons, blown through by cold winds from the Great Lakes. Snow fell in shards and iced the sidewalks. Cars trailed exhaust fumes and trains clattered by on raised tracks. The noises were of terrible engines and the throng of humanity. There was nothing he could find to love about it. He itched to leave the second he got the chance.'

So begins 'The Deception Glass', a 6,600-word urban fantasy tale, from the author of A Clash of Ichor and Blood.

Also includes the opening chapters of A Clash of Ichor and Blood.
