You do - but you only do because the memory is stored there. If it wasn't stored, it technically happened, but how would you know? Sometimes we deceive ourselves on purpose because it soothes the hurt and loosens the noose. This story is a strange read. Skylar is a self-proclaimed failed genius. Art is his better half.
