The Cottage on The Fell

The Cottage on The Fell is a compilation of 61 articles written while author and craftswoman Anne Utting was living in a tiny stone cottage on the edge of the English Lake District National Park, and originally published in the UK magazine Cumbria.  The articles chronicle the pleasures and pitfalls of 'life at altitude' while Anne and her husband tried to establish a cottage garden where no garden had existed before, and Anne continued her spinning, weaving and lecturing activities. This gentle book will appeal equally to gardeners, craftspeople and those who love the English Lake District. Illustrated with colour photos taken in and around Caldbeck and the northern Lake District at the time the articles were written.
