An unthinkable domestic tragedy sends a loving wife into a disturbed depressive state. Most would call it quits, but Jill’s husband has a love that knows no bounds. He begins to chart the degeneration of the marriage and provocatively decides to inaugurate his own brand of poetic justice. Enter the perverse yet beautiful journey at the cottage in the woods. 18+
I saw something that sparked my interest just then. A hidden cottage in the dense woods of Pennsylvania for rent by the day, week, or month. The ad read that it was a minimalist cottage, equipped with only a wood burning cook stove, a cozy brick fireplace, and a king sized bed with soft quilted linens. The outhouse was located twenty feet from the small cabin, and a well with spicket for water was about ten more feet from there. The ruggedness immediately appealed to me. Jill was certainly not the outdoorsy type, which only made it that much more attractive to me. I took her camping once when we were first married, and she suffered one calamity after the next. Poison ivy, a fish hook in the thumb, and even a close encounter with a vicious rabid raccoon. This should be interesting.
