Life brings about many challenges and struggles. The novella depicts the journey of two sisters along with a colorful supporting cast of characters rounding out the story.

Before they are adults, Jade and her sister Rachel suffer the loss of both parents. Devastated and alone, Jade goes to college and meet the man of her dreams, or is he? While the work is fiction, Jade’s battle with being overweight and the overwhelming fear of being just like her mother is common for most women. Rachel’s addictive behavior and insatiable urge for the wrong people in her life is par for the course for many as well. And James Sr. and John’s inability to be in a monogamous relationship is a well-traveled road by both men and women.

Although part of the work is heart wrenching, it is mostly about faith, hope and courage. The sisters face many struggles but they find the strength from within to stand and the belief that there is light at the end of the tunnel. It is my hope that after reading the book, each of you will walk feeling encouraged and victorious in this journey we call life.
