Steampunk, as a genre, has always sported its share of corsets and leather, yet only a few publications have pushed into the erotic steampunk realm. In the 2000s, Circlet Press published a trio of anthologies with erotic steampunk themes and in this volume all three are brought together in one glorious collection. The Circlet Treasury of Erotic Steampunk plays upon many classic Victorian and steampunk concepts for erotic purposes. If a mad, or not-so-mad, scientist of the steam age were to create his or her own clockwork being, what desires would be reflected there? If the airship were to let us unmoor from the ground, would the strictures of society and propriety fall away as well? Victorian erotica was notoriously adventurous, ours can be no less.
