'people eat boiled eggs, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, you name it, they eat it, without a word of thanks to the great chicken. I'm going to teach them a lesson they will never forget.' with these dreadful words the great chicken declares war on anyone who has ever eaten an egg or a chicken leg or told a chicken joke.
but it's beulah, an ordinary chicken from minnesota, who hatches the first lime egg chicken. naturally the egg is green, the color of limes, but that's not the worst of it because in a wink of an eye that lime egg chicken hatches another lime egg chicken and she wastes no time hatching a lime egg chicken of her own; before you know it the next chicken does the same, and so on, until pretty soon a million chickens are heading straight for new york city. poor beulah: smart as she is, she can't prevent those lime egg chickens from invading the big apple. already they're chasing people into the suburbs. the great chicken's fiendish plot is succeeding.
fortunately beulah is a plucky chicken. she recruits harry the kid and together they mastermind a scheme to stop the great chicken in his tracks. one hair-raising episode follows another as beulah and harry battle the great chicken for world domination. it's a cliffhanger.
