The Business Trip

Darren is a business consultant in his early forties. He is married but suspects his wife is cheating. Marcia works as an accountant for an investment company. She also is married; however her husband has been developing abusive tendencies. Together Darren and Marcia must travel to Kansas City to evaluate an accounting system Marcia's firm is considering buying. While there, they discover chemistry exists between them and have a torrid affair. Nonetheless, neither is eager to end their marriage. When Darren arrives home he discovers his wife Stephanie in flagrante delicto with her personal trainer. She informs Darren of her intent to leave him. Darren is more than willing to accommodate her as this frees him for Marcia. Returning to the office on Monday, Darren discovers Marcia is absent. He visits her at home and learns that her husband had physically and sexually assaulted her. He pleads with her to leave her husband, but Marcia is reluctant.
