The Boy from Beyond The Ice House is the Debut Novel of Xander Gibb. Although a work of fiction it is semi auto biographical in the sense that he draws upon real experiences from his own life. It is set in the eighties and tells the tale of a boy who is torn in every direction from his Jewish Heritage and his love for Jesus and his Sexuality given his Spirituality. Talented and sensitive with a deep need to be loved he tries to survive the maze of growing up with issues. The Ice House goes from being a derelict building where this boy once played as a child, to a place where he finds salvation and some sense in this crazy mixed up world. His interesting and controversial trek is testament to his sense of right and wrong and also humor in a confusing world of change and decision. Where will his path take him, back to his maternal family roots in London, England or will he choose to remain in The Boogie down Bronx of good old New York City? Whatever he decides and whoever he becomes I am sure it will make for an interesting tale that twists and turns more than a winding road. Join him on his journey and get a glimpse into the life of the boy from beyond the ice house. Not a book a book for the faint of heart but a great adventure from cover to cover.cover
