It's early spring semester, 1976, at The University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire. Gordon Murphy, a college senior studying business, suddenly lost his eyesight in a tragic auto accident the year before. After taking the fall semester off, his return to a somewhat normal life back at school will take a long time, and prove difficult. Along the way, he discovers powers and unknown talents that introduce him to amazing (and often quirky) new friends (including his guide dog Ringo, and the noted artists Rembrandt, Michelangelo, and Van Gogh) who not only help him in his recuperating, but also ask for his help in return.

The "Blugold Blindman of UW Eau Claire" takes the reader on a nostalgic visit to college and university life in ‘seventies’ United States. An era dwarfed in history by the social upheaval of the sixties and the booming economic growth of the eighties, but at the same time well-marked and remembered by those who came of age during that decade.
