Why do people drink wine?

Throughout history people have extolled the virtues of wine, but what is it about wine that inspires an emotional response that other historical spirits, like beer, simply do not?

Through forty years of experiencing and reading about the enjoyment of wine, I don’t think that I have ever read anything that adequately explains why people enjoy wine so much. So, I have attempted to capture the essence of the wine experience by touching on culture, law, human relationships, intuition, and great wines through the 2,200 words in this article.
Wine Enthusiast Magazine liked this explanation well enough to publish an excerpt of it as the last page of its December 15 issue.

I hope you enjoy reading my explanation of the best wine ever as much as I enjoyed researching it.
