Until a little while ago, Tommy D'Angelico and his friends were happy to be teenagers on summer vacation. Autumn arrives, however, and with it a host of new preoccupations. Tommy does not have time to worry about it much as he finds himself working two after school jobs, parcel delivery and coaching junior hockey. Tommy also meets Deyha Madhu, the forward and very pretty daughter of his employer. As the season deepens, Tommy finds himself making the rounds between school, friends, coaching, work, and his new girlfriend Deyha. Curiously, the centre of his life becomes the trips to and from the big new arena complex near his home. He feels like a satellite but should be busy enough to stay out of trouble. Tommy would be okay with it all if it weren't for the persistent visions of his friend Penny McMorrin, distracting him from the here and now. And just what is up with Penny anyway? She’s given up her dark mask only to become an academic goddess who coaches figure skating, dresses like a boy, rides a motorcycle, and goes on dates with other girls. Tomas is conflicted and confused as he struggles to come to grips with the new status quo. He had better keep his head up and his stick on the ice because trouble has a way of finding young Mr. D'Angelico, especially when it is pulled by the gravity of The Arena Orbit.
