The Anchor Cross is an action packed novel based in Harlan County, Kentucky. Hiking in a remote area, a child discovers a beautiful golden anchor cross that was brought into Harlan County in 1798. The artifact is constructed of pure gold that is traced back to having been blessed by Christ and given to St. Peter to help start the church. Bert Sterling, Sheriff of Harlan County, becomes involved in solving the story behind the cross, and also finds that it was responsible for preventing a multi-million dollar bank robbery that was planned to steal monies placed in the bank by Eastern Kentucky's most notorious drug dealer, Pretty Boy Maggard.
