Jack London is an iconic American writer, social activist, mostly known as the author of adventure fiction. Many of his literary works, including novels, plays and short stories, based on his own life experience and they have inspired numerous authors' works, and adaptations for television and film.
"The Acorn Planter", the one of just three plays written by Jack London was published in 1916. On the surface is a story about the genocide of American Indian tribes, underneath it is a scarcely hidden allegory of ecological suicide by those who understand little of nature’s abundance.
The play will not leave you indifferent; also it is absolutely must-read for every fan of London’s work. Enjoy the reading.
