Enrique “The Ghost” Garriz has a rare talent. A talent that has left him on the CIA’s most wanted list for over five years and sending many of the Agency’s top bounty hunters back in body bags along the way. With the ever increasing bounty and international pressure for his head, he turns to the corrupt streets of Manila. His choice of refuge is not by coincidence but a quest for answers. An arduous search for the very last link to his sole botched “hit” five years earlier. That seemingly simple government sanctioned hit on a well-known Philippine Senator turned whistleblower which quickly turned sour from the moment target opened his mouth.
In his new home, Enrique lays low as a simple internet café owner in the outskirts of Manila. In this small rural town lies his cover and his unusual kinship with his drag queen manager Carlo and his Rastafarian tech-whiz Paul. All of which serves as his carefully crafted cover while he works with the country’s top merchant of death; the ETA and MI6 trained Mestizo Angelo Goicoechea. Under Angelo’s wing, Enrique goes deep underground as a master assassin up for bid.
Enrique lives a lie; an expertly crafted double life of solace and loneliness that leaves the master assassin with waves of regret and a short series of flashbacks slowly revealing what really happened in Hong Kong five years earlier. But it’s that same solace and focus that allows the ‘master of death’ to excel in his profession; pushing the envelope of his morbid craft. The ferocity of his hits solidifying his reputation as a master assassin with no equal garnering him a steady stream of international hits and cash. That is till he meets with Maxine.
Her unusually brutish charms somehow wiggle its way into his hardened heart, reviving a conscience long dead and starts the once precise and cold-hearted killer down a path of almost comedic parody. Leaving the veteran inexplicably drunk with happiness and dizzy from change. Angelo is of a different opinion, Enrique’s no-nonsense middle man grows increasingly frustrated with his once top assassin slipping right in the middle of the biggest hit of their lives.
As his notoriety grows so does his reputation as an international hit-man till one lapse in concentration or shall we say conscience slip-up sends his politically connected clients reeling and calling for his head. Their disappointment sends them hiring another top team of international assassin to make an example of him. The same slip up also catches the attention of the CIA who finally find their long-awaited lead and track him down to Manila.
With his back against the wall against and two of the finest underground and government hit groups hot on his tail; he comes up with a deadly plan and turns to the most unlikely team for help.
The man who sold his soul 22 years earlier now wants it back at any cost. He is about to find out just how much he owes the devil!
