And indeed, the next morning, Ellen found herself removing another thirty vines from the clearing.  They seemed to grow so fast, she thought.  As she set the last one down outside of the clearing, she stroked its warm, leathery length and then reached for her specimen bag.  A sample of this particular plant might give her an idea on how it spread and how best to control it.  As she cut into it though, it suddenly rose up violently.  She gasped, falling backwards.  The vine hovered in front of her for a moment and then smacked her across the face.  The last thing she heard before passing out was the rustling of other vines surrounding her.
