Summer with the Indians

As I began writing memoirs about being a teenager working in the migrant apple orchards of Washington State, my primary goal was simply to put on paper some of my life's experiences for the benefit of my children and grandchildren. I soon realized that I needed to share more than just a single season of experiences with Indian co-workers. Perhaps a second motivation was realizing that so many details and histories of family members had been permanently lost with their passing. I determined that I needed to share the memories and experiences with Native American friends that have so affected my life.
