The Perfect Couple by Elin Hilderbrand: Conversation Starters

The Perfect Couple, the newest novel from “Queen of the Summer Beach Read,” Elin Hilderbrand, is the author's first murder mystery novel. In The Perfect Couple, Hilderbrand takes readers back to Nantucket. This time the “Wedding of the Century” will be taking place between the wealthy Benjamin Winbury and Celeste Otis, who worked at the Bronx Zoo. Unfortunately, when a body is discovered on the beach behind the Winbury's Nantucket home, the wedding proves to be one to remember, but not in the way the couple had in mind. The Chief of Police, Ed Kapenash, gets to work to discover what happened to the deceased. Along the way, he discovers that each member of the family, as well as a few guests, are keeping their own secrets.
The Perfect Couple was called the “quintessential” book to read in the summer by People. Bookreporter called Hilderbrand's first murder mystery “fantastic and clever.” The Perfect Couple became a bestseller for The New York Times in 2018.
