Space – Everybody Shut Up, I’m Trying To Think – Diane Koopman
Leyna is a public servant who lives with her brother Marty, in Surry Hills, Sydney. Burnt out and uneasy, she embarks on a holiday to a cottage in the Snowy Mountains' town of Berridale.
Before returning home, the bus company makes a mistake on Leyna's bus ticket and she becomes stranded. She meets a young woman, Lisa, who offers to drive her home.
Leyna travels to Dalgety, Cooma, then Bredbo, on her way home to Sydney and when she returns home, she discovers her life is vastly different from the one she had before going away.
A year later, she travels back to the cottage in Berridale to reconnect with the people she had met there.
This is the story of a woman who takes control of her own satisfaction and happiness, finally learning how to dismiss her own doubts and insecurities, and the expectations of the people around her, to do exactly what she wants. She learns that the only person she has to please is herself, the only person she is obligated to is herself and the only desires she is indebted to fulfill are her own.
